OUR BOARD Our Board of Directors focuses on ways to help those in West Michigan challenged by Spina Bifida. Our Board meets throughout the year to determine and devise our operating plan, budget and measurable goals. The current board members: Carol Carpenter, President Jodie Anderson, Vice President Bonni Melton, Treasurer Emily Bush, Secretary MaryJo Boerman, Board member Leigh Gibbs, Board member Jamie Freitag The mission of the West Michigan Spina Bifida Organization is to support our members by helping individuals affected by Spina Bifida to lead rich and full lives and to become as independent as they possibly can. The WMSBO helps families affected with Spina Bifida in numerous ways. We help children enjoy sports with adaptive equipment, distribute funds to allow those children to go to sports camps, financially assist families in attending educational conferences and also create events for our local Spina Bifida community to meet and connect with others who share similar challenges. *Money raised by the WMSBO directly benefits those affected by Spina Bifida in the West Michigan area. Anyone interested in our financial status can find our 2010 - 990 published to Guidestar when it is completed. |
